I could say now what I see in the picture, but is it still the same as when I painted it and what is even more exciting is what the person looking at it sees

Comment by John Reiff Williams

Perhaps the telltale of this piece lies at the center base, a creature lying on its back looking at the looming universe of memory impressions above. Just witnessing and processing what is happening in life. "Why memory impressions, John?" Because, as in life, most things are dreams or the residue of things that have left a tracery impression, and that become the basis for our modus operandi... behavioral patterns. In this situation, most of the forms have a dominant temporality, a gesture, which overrides the idea of a portrait with defining boundaries, "the way things are!" Nope, this is about what it's like to be fluid, dynamic, curious, playful, with potential/relational co-existence of everything... in a behavioral sense. Largely non-threatening... hold that thought. Why? Perhaps this is a mirror image of what isn't happening in the world, real or imagined? Are we afraid of each other? In the real world can we express this much freedom of expression?
Perhaps it is just another beautiful day, with birds flying, where fun abounds. And. One question remains. The blue triangulated face, floating on a string, looking straight out at the viewer, in a state of wonderment, is behaving as the BIG existential question mark. Why?
So, that is what i see and feel.. in this moment?

If you are reading this, for us to engage on an increasingly deeper level, do not be afraid of your thoughts nor expressing them. What i have written is just one perspective. Can you imagine what would happen if everyone sat down and just meditated on what is before their eyes and wrote it down? There are no mistakes. As Peter has said above,
"what is even more exciting is what the person looking at it sees."
For over a decade I have been writing about Peter's work. Why? Because when you find someone as gracious, open, curious, and accepting as Peter, if the work speaks to you, you suddenly have a portal, an access point to explore your thoughts. And the fringe benefits are enormous, you get to learn about yourself and that leads to seeds of growth into your own work, your journey, and our collective journey. I don't think I am alone here.
