It is nice to see “The Sun took the Day Off”. As of yet, I don't know what I can add to it as a comment. The territory feels familiar. I do love the color palette and figurative scale shifts from full length to gestural faces. Overall, there is a lovely messiness to your attack, Peter, a sense of working a surface in flux abounds. The figures are fragmented--lost and found within the flux. The risk, for me, is how you have woven this together. The spectrum of gestures seems to range from puzzlement to curious to peaceful witnessing.
Overall, the sense of inhabitance you have created here feels like relationships and questions that deserve revisiting as the viewer slips and finds themself in another state of mind. The overlap of the relationships you have created deserves revisting.
... And there you have it. I did not know I was ready to sit down and create a thought line. Maybe there will be more to add?
I do not know. But based upon the idea of my own state of mind, this is a curious piece and I think it important to create an on going relationship with it... and THAT may very well be a Secret Dance.
